WHO WE SUPPORT
Our commitment to community runs deeper than our events. Through our ongoing give-back initiatives, we proudly support causes that uplift, inspire, and empower.
We are honored to contribute to the Jim Carino Memorial Scholarship, which supports Stoneham High School graduating athletes as well as the next generation of passionate industry professionals. As proud members of the SEARCH 100, we donate $100 monthly to the SEARCH Foundation, aiding event professionals facing crisis. We also extend our support to Relay for Life and the American Red Cross, two organizations whose missions reflect our own values of resilience and compassion.
This August, we’re excited to launch a new initiative:
A $500 donation to a charity, nonprofit, or club dedicated to developing rising talent in the hospitality and event industries—including those that are grassroots or just getting started. The best part? You choose the winner. Nominate and vote via our public social media pages throughout August 2025, with the final selection happening at the end of the month.

Rooted in mentorship and legacy, we are committed to elevating the live event industry while giving back to the communities and people who inspire us. From weddings to galas to large-scale productions, we aim to lead with creativity, serve with heart, and always rise to the challenge—just like a Black Diamond trail.

A tribute to the mentor who shaped our story. The Jim Carino Memorial Scholarship empowers young creatives and future leaders in events and education—just like “Coach” did for us.
SEARCH Foundation & SEARCH 100
As proud SEARCH 100 members, we donate monthly to support event pros facing unexpected crisis. Because no one in our industry should stand alone.
NACE & ILEA Sponsorships
We invest in the future of our field by sponsoring national and local events through NACE and ILEA. It’s how we help elevate education, innovation, and leadership in live events.
Relay for Life
Lighting the way forward. Our support of Relay for Life helps fund life-saving cancer research while honoring those we’ve lost and those who continue to fight.
American Red Cross
From local house fires to national disasters, we support the Red Cross in bringing hope, shelter, and immediate aid to those in need.
$500 Community Give-Back Contest
You nominate. You vote. We donate. One New England nonprofit supporting hospitality or event talent will receive $500—chosen by public vote this August.
$500 GIVE-AWAY CONTEST RULES AND DEADLINES

Contest is open to charities, nonprofits, or clubs based in New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Maine).

Eligible organizations must focus on community betterment or developing talent in the hospitality or event industries.

Organizations may be nominated by the public via official Black Diamond social media platforms.

Nominations must be received by August 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.

Voting will occur on Black Diamond’s public Instagram and/or Facebook pages between August 16–28, 2025.

The winner will be determined by the most verified public votes as of August 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.

The winning organization will receive a one-time $500 donation by check or electronic transfer within 30 days of the winner announcement.

Black Diamond Event Production reserves the right to verify eligibility of nominated organizations and disqualify any fraudulent entries or votes.

WHY WE GIVE BACK
At Black Diamond Event Production, giving back isn’t a marketing campaign—it’s a mission built from legacy.
This initiative was inspired by the life and leadership of Jim “Coach” Carino, the beloved Stoneham High School teacher, tech advisor, and championship soccer coach who mentored our founder, David Buono, from day one.
Jimmy, as he was known to generations of students, led with heart and humor—especially as the driving force behind SHS’s legendary Carnival Ball, a tradition that combined talent, satire, and school spirit like no other. After his passing from COVID in 2021, his wake was held in the SHS gym, surrounded by the same championship banners he once earned. The hallways were lined with artifacts from a life that shaped an entire community.
That legacy lives on in everything we do.
The Jim Carino Memorial Scholarship
To honor the man who believed in potential before it was visible, Black Diamond proudly contributes to the Jim Carino Memorial Scholarship. This award helps support young students pursuing careers in live events, hospitality, media, or education—fields where Carino himself left a lasting impact. It is our privilege to help launch the next generation, just as Jim launched David’s.
Investing in Our Industry’s Future
We believe in showing up for the professionals who make this industry thrive. Black Diamond is proud to be a SEARCH 100 Member, contributing $100/month to the SEARCH Foundation, which provides critical financial relief to event professionals in crisis—whether from illness, disaster, or unexpected hardship.
Our team also actively supports and sponsors initiatives through NACE (National Association for Catering and Events) and ILEA (International Live Events Association), helping fund education, networking, and advancement for our peers in the field. From producing high-impact galas to offering pro bono support at industry summits, we’re committed to lifting others as we climb.
Serving the Broader Community
In addition to our industry-specific work, we proudly support broader causes that make a direct and lasting difference. Black Diamond sponsors and contributes to Relay for Life in the fight against cancer, and we back the lifesaving efforts of the American Red Cross, whose disaster relief work aligns with our values of readiness and compassion.
