DJ Training Camp
A comprehensive 3 week program for beginner and intermediate wannabe DJ’s located at Black Diamond’s dedicated training facility in Stoneham, MA (10 miles north of Boston). Next course begins March 2025.
COURSE SCHEDULE: 3x 2.5 hour sessions, 3x/week | Usually taking place weeknights between Monday and Thursday 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Scheduling conflicts may push some classes to Sunday afternoon/evenings.
COURSE FEE: $1,200 payable in full prior to course start date. NOTE: Rate is not pro-rated for missed course days and non-refundable for any/all cancelled courses.
GEAR REQUIREMENTS: None. All necessary training gear provided by Black Diamond.
DJ TRAINING COURSE OUTLINE
WEEK 1: DJ FUNDAMENTALS
Over the 3 nights of week 1, soon-to-be DJs learn the basics of DJ mixing consoles, controllers, turntables and related equipment and software. Live crash course performance lessons from Black Diamond’s top professional DJs get this week started to provide polished inspiration to participants.
WEEK 2: MIXING TECHNIQUES
Learn the key fundamentals of professional DJ mixing including beat mixing, phrasing, harmonic mixing, beats/bars/phrases, and learn from live examples from Black Diamond’s team of professional full time DJs.
WEEK 3: ADVANCED MIXING TECHNIQUES & YOUR OWN CUSTOM RECORDED MIX
Time to put it all together in week 3. Each participant is given a time slot to work alongside one of the Black Diamond DJs in programming their first polished recorded mix set. You choose your own music and mixing style and your trainers help get your first mix set recorded and ready to be sent to club promoters, bar managers, talent managers or just to send to your friends for clout.
Upon Course Completion
Take your new skillset and go off on your own and begin to earn some money and fame in the wildly fruitful live events industry, or explore career options right here with Black Diamond Event Production. Course participants who successfully pass this comprehensive DJ training course are given priority treatment when new DJ hiring rounds occur twice each year.
