David Buono built Black Diamond Event Production from the ground up with a clear conviction: events are not just logistics. They are experiences that people carry with them for the rest of their lives. That belief has guided every decision since the company's founding and is evident in the standard of work that has made Black Diamond one of New England's most sought-after event production firms.
With over a decade of experience spanning both the hospitality and live events industries, David brings a rare combination of technical mastery and genuine creative instinct to every engagement. His work spans luxury weddings at New England's most celebrated venues, high-profile corporate productions, and private social events where the expectation is nothing short of extraordinary.
In 2021, BizBash Magazine named David one of the Most Influential Event Professionals in the United States, placing him among a select group recognized for shaping the direction of the industry nationally. That same year he received the ILEA ESPRIT Award and was nominated for the NACE ONE Award, two of the most respected honors in live events.
David has served the industry beyond his own business as well, completing two terms as Vice President on the Board of Directors of the International Live Events Association's Boston Chapter. When the COVID-19 pandemic brought the event industry to a standstill, he stepped forward as Director-At-Large of the newly formed Massachusetts Live Events Coalition, advocating for the thousands of professionals whose livelihoods depended on the return of live events.
David is also a committed supporter of the SEARCH Foundation and its SEARCH 100 initiative, which provides emergency financial relief to hospitality and event industry professionals facing crisis. Giving back to the community that shaped him is not a footnote. It is part of who he is.

To friends and family, he is simply DJ. A New Englander at the core, David is as comfortable navigating a ballroom at the Wequassett Resort as he is carving a line at Killington or Sunday River on a January morning. His slopes of choice have taken him from Loon in Lincoln to his favorite mountain of all, Winter Park, Colorado, where a childhood best friend first showed him what a mountain was supposed to feel like.
