Rainy Wedding Day Tips

March 26, 2023

A rainy wedding day may seem like a nightmare, but with a bit of preparation, it can still be a beautiful and memorable occasion. Here are some tips to help you make the most of a rainy wedding day:

Have a Backup Plan:

    • If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, make sure you have a backup plan in place in case of rain. This could mean having a tent, an indoor venue or a covered area that you can quickly move to in the event of rain. Make sure your vendors and wedding party are aware of the backup plan so that everyone is on the same page.

Keep an Eye on the Weather:

    • Check the weather forecast leading up to your wedding day, and if a rainy wedding day is in the forecast, consider purchasing some clear umbrellas for you and your bridal party. They can make for some great photos, and will keep you dry as you move between locations. If you want to get a *personal* forecast for your wedding day, check out our Wedding Meteorology Confidence partner, Ironic Reports. “Isn’t Ironic, don’t you think?”

Embrace the Rain:

    • If you’re not too fussed about getting a bit wet, embrace the rain and have some fun with it. Jumping in puddles, dancing in the rain, and even taking some romantic photos under an umbrella can all make for some unique and memorable moments.

Adjust Your Timeline:

    • Rain can cause delays, so be sure to adjust your wedding day timeline accordingly. Allow extra time for transportation, getting ready, and any other activities that might be affected by the weather.

Communicate with Your Vendors:

    • If rain is expected, communicate with your vendors to make sure they’re prepared. Ask your photographer for advice on how to get the best photos in the rain, and ask your DJ or band to have a contingency plan in case of wet weather.

Keep Your Guests Informed:

    • Make sure your guests are aware of the backup plan and any changes to the timeline. You could include a note in your wedding invitations, or have a sign at the entrance of the venue letting guests know where to go in the event of rain.

Stay Positive:

    • Finally, stay positive and remember that rain on your wedding day is said to be good luck! Embrace the unexpected and make the most of your special day, no matter the weather.

In conclusion, while rain on your wedding day may not be ideal, it doesn’t have to ruin your special day. With a bit of preparation and a positive attitude, you can still have a beautiful and memorable wedding, rain or shine.

"Spinner Music Productions was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! I am in the wedding industry myself so finding professional and exceptional vendors was a must - and SMP was nothing short of that! I gave them practically no direction and they somehow knew exactly what I wanted and delivered it perfectly. My dance floor was packed from the moment my reception began until the moment it ended. My guests still tell me that my wedding was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to and I totally credit that to DJ Buono and his staff. I would recommend them a million times over! Book them ASAP!!!"

"I’m not even sure where to begin. Your generosity kindness, organization, and willingness to work with our other vendors and wedding planner was amazing! Not only was David so fun to get to know (by the end he had spent hours talking to us to get our vibe just right), but he was also incredibly professional. He went above and beyond to accommodate every request we had. Not only that but he chose us as a couple to receive an extra service due to the generosity and donation of a previous couple that could not use the services paid for! We will be forever grateful for ALL of the extra miles he went for us. The music was enjoyed by everyone and our guests were on the dance floor the entire night. He also struck the perfect balance between getting everyone on the floor and ready to dance it not being overly excited or cheesy! I’m not sure we can say enough about how amazing our experience was with Spinner Music Productions. Please book them if they are available it is worth every cent!"

"As the mother of the groom I reached out to David to help me create the most spectacular evening for my son and his beautiful bride. I assure you that he and Tim created just that for us. He had the dance floor overflowing from introductions to last call. From the 3 year olds to the 89 years young EVERYONE had an amazing time. We never sat down and guests were raving about how much fun they were having. Do yourself a favor and HIRE Spinner Music. I promise you will thank me!!!"
