Matt Preston is the kind of guy who shows up early, stays late, and makes it look easy in between. Since joining Black Diamond Event Production in the fall of 2024, he's built a reputation as a reliable force on both sides of the evening: he's comfortable behind the decks and equally at home loading in gear, managing a timeline, or problem-solving when something goes sideways.
That dual role is no accident. The event support side of the job teaches you things no DJ school can: how productions actually flow, what clients feel when they walk in the room, and where a night can unravel if the crew isn't locked in. Matt carries that context to the booth, and it shows in how he works a room.
His sets are shaped by instinct and a sharp ear for the moment. Whether the night calls for a slow-build cocktail hour or a hard-driving main event, Matt reads the room and makes decisions with confidence. He's not chasing trends or playing it safe. He plays what works.
